How far is the cabin from the various attractions, stores, etc?
Almostall of the area attractions – downtown Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Ripley’sAquarium, Ober Ski Resort, and the various shows are all within a 20-25 minute drive, and a hour’s drive to Clingmans Dome in The Great Smoky Mountains. The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is only 10 minutes from the Cabin. Only minutes to Hartford TN for white water rafting for more information call 1-800-449-RAFT or visit www.raftingtennessee.com There is a Wal-Mart about 7 miles to the north of the cabin on Highway 321, or off I40 exit 435. And thereis a Dollar General about 3 minutes from the cabin on hwy 321N. The Cabin is one-hour from the Biltmore Estate in NC & Cataloochee Valley, which are great places to visit.

We will get you started with tissue paper, paper towels, dish washing detergent, trash bags and hand soap, to last a day or two.If your reservation is longer you may want to bring more of these items with you.

How private is thecabin?
Unlike many cabins in the Smokies, Creek Wood is not part of a rental cabin compound. Creekwood is nestled among the towering trees and mountain laurel on a 1 acre lot with a small creek, an outdoor fire pit to enjoy and convenient to many area attractions.
Are there bears?
Occasionally there is a bear sighting in the area. Guests are asked to use caution with food storage, trash disposal, etc.
Is there Fishing close to the cabin?
Yes! The Cosby campground and creek is only a short drive from the cabin on hwy 321S. (10 Minutes) the campground is very nice as well as the creek located in the campground area. Brook trout can be caught in this blue ribbon trout stream and is easily accessed from the campground without having to hike in. Are there Hiking trails close to the cabin?
Yes! Cosby Tennessee, borders the Great Smoky National Park and the Cherokee National Forest. Many of the top hiking trails and waterfalls begin in Cosby.The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains hiking trails and the HenWallow Waterfall is only 10 minutes from the cabin. (Cosby Campground)
