One of the area’s top craftsmen constructed Enchanted Forest of Honka logs, made of sustainably forested polar pine and as beautiful as they are durable. The artful cutouts of the deck railings and the stone surround of the living room’s gas fireplace speak to the care lavished on the cabin. All 3 decks, including the private balcony of the loft’s sleeping area, look out onto towering trees. The lower deck, however, may be your favorite spot for reveling in the fresh mountain breeze and the birdsong: It’s where you’ll find the hot tub.

If you prefer to soak indoors, you’ll love the master suite. Decorated in the manner of a quiet country inn, the suite includes a king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a spacious Jacuzzi. After a day on the go, you’ll relish a luxurious soak among the massaging jets of water—and it just might put you in the mood for romance too.

The 2nd sleeping area, in the loft, will absolutely delight the kids, complete with a table top "multicade" arcade game!The 2 twin beds nestle beneath a sloping wood-planked ceiling. What’s more, the window and the balcony provide a bird’s-eye view of the woods. Staying up here is almost like sleeping in a treehouse!

Enchanted Forest includes a 2nd full bathroom for the 2nd sleeping area. Having a bathroom for each bedroom is so convenient; you can take your time primping without a line forming in the hallway. We’ll provide plenty of clean towels and bedding; no need to bring your own. In fact, because the cabin has its own washer and dryer, you can pack lighter than usual.

The living room exhibits the same emphasis on comfort and casual country ease as the rest of Enchanted Forest. Between the plush sofa and the generous-size armchair, there’s more than enough room for everyone to settle back and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV with DVD player and cable. The kids can sprawl out on the rug with their toys and games while you surf the web via the free WiFi or curl up by the fireplace with a book.

When you’re not dining out at one of the many nearby restaurants, you’ll appreciate how well equipped Enchanted Forest’s kitchen is. Appliances, gadgets, cookware, tableware: It’s all right here. The dining table seats 4 with room to spare; you won’t be knocking knees and jostling elbows here.

In less than 20 minutes you can drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which you can explore on foot, by bike, on horseback, or by car. And within a half-hour you can be on the slopes of Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area or in downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, arcades, thrill rides, and more.
