Hidden Creek - A Mountain Escape

Hidden Creek is a quiet retreat for Smoky Mountain visitors who want to avoid the crowds in Gatlinburg. It's separated from neighboring cabins by a half mile of forest but that doesn't mean sacrificing convenience. Hidden Creek is just 8 miles from the National Parks Cosby entrance, and the WalMart Super Center in Newport.

The cabin sits beside a mountain creek which can be heard through open windows in the evening, while visiting with friends around the creek-side fire ring, or while exploring the 3/4 mile long walking trail. The private hot tub on the wrap around porch is a perfect spot for soaking up mountain views and starry nights.

The cabin has a large, spacious floor plan with vaulted ceilings. The living area, dining area, kitchen, and master bedroom are on the main level. The cabin includes a real wood burning fireplace and game room. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are less than 30 miles away.

Private, peaceful, secluded cabin/home in a nature lovers paradise When I booked this cabin and location, I read the reviews and what attracted me the most was the way previous visitors said the location was far from the attractions and away from people. We did drive the beautiful scenic route to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to do some touristy things, but the sole purpose of our trip was to unplug from our day to day stress. So we stayed at the cabin enjoyed the fireplace, nature trail and creek that are on the property. I never used the WiFi, but I always had cell service. We have Android phones and Verizon service. My only disappointment for the weekend was that we didn't see any black bears. Although the cabin decor was tastefully decorated with them. We also drove up the Newfound Gap route and in Cades Cove we did a nature trail hike to Abrams falls while on the trip. The little town of Cosby had cute little shops that we visited and talked to the owners and felt like we were locals as if we had come back to our hometown after being gone for a while. I will choose to stay at Hidden Creek again when we bring our grown children back with us for another relaxing vacation in the future. I highly recommend staying at Hidden Creek or somewhere in Cosby just because I do not like the tourist trap of Gatlinburg. For me the tourism cheapens the natural beauty of The Great Smokey Mountains. The cabin was clean, well stocked, cozy, spacious, and updated. The kitchen dishes and cookware is of good quality, some Rachel Ray and Pampered Chef items. The bathroom linens were clean soft and the throw rugs were of luxery quality. The bedding was soft cotton with cozy mattress covers. We brought our own pillows and favorite blankets from home to add to the comfort. The couch was a large sized sectional with plenty of lounging space. The wrap-around-deck gives several outdoor seating to view nature all around. I especially appreciated that there is no smoking in the cabin and I did not notice any hint of it anywhere in the cabin. I also appreciate that there was no dogs allowed and also noticed there was no hint of an animal smell anywhere in the cabin. The fire in the fireplace was most appealing. We brought our own firewood and we used most of it except for about 10 pieces. We would have used the firepit outside except for the time of year we visited was rainy so we we missed out on that opportunity. Bottom line, if you want people around go to a hotel. If you enjoy privacy this is the place to be.

William Jones We had a great time at the cabin (Hidden Creek) it was very nice and peaceful. We look forward to our next stay. The last .6 of a mile is steep and difficult for a 2 wheel drive but manageable. I put 8 - 10 large rocks in the back of my truck so I could get up the driveway without spinning. There are several trails on the property to hike on. The creek is small but interesting. We went WW rafting in Hartford on the Upper Pigeon with the grandkids and had a blast.

Beautiful Home! Beautiful Home! Wish we could have stayed longer. Went to the aquarium, World Record, and Haunted House-All Ripley attractions. Very fun for our girl. Hiking and then off to Nashville. A very nice stay. Bragg Family Indiana

Such a peaceful place I traveled from Indianapolis. I have been separated from my wife since September 2017. This was my first trip alone and it served its purpose. I wanted to get away and clear my mind and refocus. I spent 3 days and 4 nights here and did not make any human contact. LOL I can’t explain how peaceful it was to my mind and soul. Your home is great and you are very fortunate. Nature is everything and to be able to take it all in was simply amazing. I don’t know how many people have spent 3 days alone in nature but it’s something I will highly recommend. Such a busy, chaotic world and it’s hard to find peacefulness. I’m leaving here more at peace than I have ever felt. I hope to carry this with me for a long time. Thanks for opening up your house and know your home will have a place in my soul forever. Quite a holiday retreat! Our family came here to have family time for the New Year’s Eve! After several missed turns, we found the secret treasure! Our last night, we had snow, and everyone was AFRAID to drive. We came from Iowa where they have had snow every day since we left (9-12” total). Yes, we’re used to our 4 wheel drive and all-wheel drive so the driveway was not hard to navigate. The kids enjoyed walking the creek up to the road. We spent one day in Gatlinburg, fun for all! A couple went horseback riding and a couple drove to Nashville for the bowl game that our Hawkeyes were predicted to play in but UNI did. The cabin is very welcoming and homey. We all slept in and stayed up later than we are used to-Very Relaxing! Hope to return soon!

Hidden Creek So glad we chose to stay here and not a hotel or resort. It was our own private oasis. We explored the property and surrounding area. Enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Even had fun playing the video games.

What a gem WOW! Words alone cannot describe the beauty and seclusion of this place! Although we had heard about the cabin, we were very pleasantly surprised. We came for a long weekend for rest and relaxation. We traveled from NW Indiana where we had 20 inches of snow the weekend before we left. So even though it rained most of Saturday, the weather was perfect. It was nice to sit barefoot on the deck and listen to the creek and wildlife. We traveled to Cades Cove so the hot tub was very relaxing after that. Our daughter came Saturday afternoon from Nashville, TN so it was nice to be able to see and visit with her as well. From the moment we stepped out of the car we felt completely at home, from the layout of the house, to the décor, it is outstanding. Our daughter even enjoyed the porch swing. We have already recommended this to several friends and we hope to return when Roaring Forks Road is open and can hopefully bring our son when he is on a break from college for a family vacation. This is the most relaxed I have felt in years and exactly what I needed. Blessings to all who enter Hidden Creek. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Peaceful perfection Just to save the reader some time, I'll start off by saying that all of the 5- star reviews are true and the pictures are accurate. You seriously do not need to look any further for the perfect vacation spot. I'm a caregiver for two different households on top of working as an auditor for a major retail chain. Once in a while I just crave some peace and solitude. Hidden Creek gave me that as well as absolute comfort and all the conveniences I could want. Neat as a pin, perfectly furnished and equipped, beautiful surroundings, secluded but not totally isolated and most of all, blessed peace. No other cabins in sight or earshot- and sound does travel in these mountains. I did see a car through the trees on another road a couple of times but other than that, no people, no traffic. Down to specifics. I would have called the road and the driveway steep if I hadn't visited in the region before. There are steeper roads around the area, trust me. Once you have your first go at it, it won't seem too bad at all. I have to say that the owners maintain their private road a lot better than the county maintains the one road leading up to it (the mailman must be a real mountain man.) Just take it easy, follow the directions and any average car will do fine. Speaking of directions, those supplied when you book are definitely the best way to go. I went exploring one day and got happily lost and had to use Google Maps which did get me back to the front door, but NOT by the best route. Just know that it works, but only as a backup. I was hoping for a variety of wildlife but I had to settle for a lone wild turkey who would mosey down to the head of the driveway every day. Maybe he wanted a little alone time as well. The creek the icing on the cake. A morning walk on the adjacent trail truly restores the soul. I hope to be able to visit again one day but in the meantime I'll have the memories of the very best vacation I can remember
